The shoes are stunningly nice-looking. The quality and attention to detail are off the chart. Fancy without looking fancy, if that makes sense!
I would definitely recommend these shoes to any guys looking for something that is understatedly special and timeless in design. Just impeccable craftsmanship all around.
Size-choice-wise, my husband is a 43 in some brands and a 44 in others. We got 44 for him and it seems like it was the right choice for the size.
The only problem is, they seem to run on the narrow end of the spectrum.
My husband loves the way they look, but when he tried them on they were narrow. Too narrow for him to wear - even for a moment.
We carefully consulted the size chart before ordering (this is his first pair of La Canadienne shoes, though I have purchased the brand for myself previously) and we measured the length of his foot, so we did well on picking the right size.
Hooray for that!
It's just the width that isn't right. They did not come in different widths, so we had to just hope for the best, since he's usually regular width on other shoes.
He plans on taking them to a really good shoe repair place so he can get them stretched.
(We got a sale style, so no returns. We're going to make it work! They are excellent in all other ways!)
