SIZE & FIT GUIDE

Chelsea boots sketch

While we strive to offer a consistent fit across a range of styles over the years, a shoe’s styling, construction, and materials can influence the fit. Additionally, the unique shape of your feet — including factors such as width, arch, and instep — may also affect your sizing in our shoes. For these reasons, your size may vary across different La Canadienne footwear.

While we cannot guarantee a specific fit, additional shoe information can be found in the "Sizing Info" tab of the product page. We also offer customer reviews to assist with your choice by providing further insights. We suggest paying attention to any comments regarding fit and sizing accuracy, as well as your own experience and personal needs, to make a more informed decision.

MEASUREMENT GUIDELINES

Shaft Height

Stand with your feet flat on the floor and legs straight. Measure from the floor to the desired point on your leg. Make sure the measuring tape stays straight and taut. Compare your measurements to the boot’s shaft height listed on the product page to ensure the fit is just right for your preferred style.

Shaft Height Measurements

Booties: 3”–8”
Knee Height: 8”–11.5”
Over-the-knee: 15” and up

Calf Circumference

Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the widest part of your calf. Compare your measurement with the boot’s calf circumference information on the product page. If you are considering shearling-lined boots, keep in mind that you may need to add about 0.5" to 1" to your measurement, especially depending on the fabric you plan to wear under the boots. And have in mind that the material will stretch a bit after a few wears.

Heel Height Measurements

*Flat: <25mm
*Low: 25–40mm
*Mid: 41–80mm
*High: 81–105mm

EXTRA TIPS FOR FINDING YOUR BEST FIT

Comfort & Toe Box Fit

The best-fitting shoes are those that feel comfortable and snug across your foot, with enough room in the toe box for movement. The fit should be tight enough to prevent your shoes from slipping off your heel while walking.

Material Differences

Shoes made from crinkled leather may feel tighter than those made from a naturally softer suede. But have in mind that as natural material, leather will stretch with time and wear to take the shape of your foot.

Consider Width & Foot Shape:

We currently offer only medium-width shoes. If you have wide feet, you may need to size up. For narrow feet, consider sizing down or opting for adjustable styles (with laces or straps) to get a snug fit.
